Ok, I;ve searched the forum and looked for the reasons why I'm having this problem... Same problem as others, when I try to run it, logo comes up, black screen, and then back to desktop. It appears that it's a hardware requirements issue. Now what I'm asking is in everyone's professional opinion should this setup work. I believe it meets the requirements and exceeds them.

AMD Athalon 2700
1 gig Corsair PC2700 DDRAM
80 Gig W/D 7200 RPM Hard Drive (recently did a reinstall, is nearly empty)
Asus A7N8X mobo with built in sound and network
Pioneer 16x DVD Rom
Yamaha 16X CDRW
Sony DVD +/- RW (external, Firewire and USB 2.0)

Windows XP SP2 with latest critical updates. All drivers for hardware are up to date too. I believe this should run the game fine, but what's everyone else think?

Thanks

Nick

Hello englenr and welcome to G2G!

What graphics card do you have?
Have you installed the latest patch?

I thought I forgot something.

ATI Radeon 9600 XT

I just downloaded the latest patches for the game, going to try that. All drivers are up to date though.

Do you have the latest version of DirectX installed?
When you say all your drivers are up to date what hardware do you mean?
Have you closed all unnecessary background tasks?
Also try setting your desktop to 800x600 and running the game.

I am having a problem with this game aswell, my friend has a GeForce Mx420 and anytime he attempts to run the game a message comes up saying it isn't supported though similar cards are, Geforce3 etc. Is there anything he can do, should he just update his driver or what?

Hello WildCardDoW and welcome to G2G!

The MX series of cards isn't supported by the game!
You could try updating the drivers from the Nvidia website but it probably won't work.

I've installed the latest DX software, all the drivers for the MOBO (and all built in compentents, NIC, Audio, USB2, Firewire) are up to date, Video card drivers are up to date (latest from ATI).

I've killed all non essential processes, even went as far as when I did a reinstall and updated all drivers and patches, to make sure MOHPA was the first thing installed, and tried to run it, and still just goes to the black screen and back to the desktop.

I've tried running at 800x600, with everything on low detail...
