My present Windows ME pc has a 120 gb drive I intend to use as a slave in a new Windows XP pc. Can I then run the programs in the slave drive the same as I do in the present pc, or will there be a conflict between the operating systems? If there is, what's the solution?

Sure no problem. You may have problems if you were going the other way (XP to Me).
