i no i should but iv been told by my technision at school to restore it back to factory settings so can any help me to get into control panel or not

You need the XP cd to run the repair.. System Restore "MAY" do it, but I wouldn't hold my breath!! Either which way, getting into Control Panel won't do anything for you as far as restoring is concerned!!

You may NOT have that option.. System Restore only keeps a variable number of Restore Points.. as a new one is made (once the allotted disk space is used up), the oldest one is deleted..

To ensure the system is clean, you MUST use the Recovery/Restores cd's that you should have received with your system or a retail/OEM version of XP with a legal Product Code..

I am getting you.. to return to a completely clean system, you MUST HAVE the original Pachard Bell Recovery/Restore cd's or a Retail/OEM version of XP..

Getting into Control Panel will do absolutely NOTHING for you.. Those cd's ARE A MUST !!!!!! Do you understand now???

If your technician at school thinks you can do that through the Control Panel without the XP cd's, then he is the last person I would ever take my system to!!!

You can get the educational version if you qualify

Post your Country if you have a problem locating a reseller
