I have trouble installing programs like "Global IME (Japanese)" from Microsoft. It shows an error code msg.
In fact, I have many programs that couldnt install because of "Windows Installer." Anyone has any idea how to fix it?

go to the microsoft updates page and make sure you are up to date

One of the first things you will download from Windows Update site is Windows Installer 3.1 which is probably why you are getting the error.

I have the latest Windows Installer 3.1 (KB893803)...So what is the problem?
