Hello Everyody,
I just want to thank everybody for everything you've helped me with in the past, you all have been great, and this is a great service you're providing for the tech challenged like myself. Keep it up!
Anyway, my problem is when I start my computer it takes almost 2 minutes before the hourglass disappears from my mouse and my computer gets running smoothly. I've cleaned my computer from spyware and all the other stuf you counseled me to do before posting a HiJackThis Log, and it has helped, but friends have told me that my starting PF Usage (when I open Task Manager, under the 'Performance' tab) should be a lot lower, like around 200 at least, and it's at least double! Any help and advice you can offer on this would be greatly appreciated!

Here's my HJT Log as of today

Hi emp_zertec
Welcome to geeks to go

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order in which they are mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes.

Go to Start | Run and type this in the box: services.msc
  • Locate this services, iihipvfp6 then right click and select properties.
  • Under Service Status: select Stop
  • In the drop down box labeled, Startup Type: select Disabled
We need to make all files and folders VISIBLE:

Go to start>control panel>folder options>view (tab)
*choose to "show hidden files and folders,"
*uncheck the "hide protected operating system files" and the "hide extensions for know file types" boxes.
*Close the window with ok
*All hidden files will now be visible

Click This link for further help.

Please re-open HiJackThis and scan. Check the boxes next to all the entries listed below.

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {8AFD25DD-D445-8B52-BFD7-BBDE61567487} - (no file)
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [x7sk39l] rpckvs.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [u6h8t10t] C:\Program Files\u6h8t10t\u6h8t10t.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SystemCheck] C:\WINDOWS\SysCheckBop32
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [msjava service] xpcd.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [HPNT] C:\Program Files\hpdll\hpdll.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [gw3qRVJnh] rnrbk32.exe
O23 - Service: adfytjiubtzg (iihipvfp6) - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\system32\crgwxxax6.exe (file missing)

Now close all windows other than HiJackThis, then click Fix Checked. Reboot into safe mode.

Restart your computer and as soon as it starts booting up again continuously tap F8. A menu should come up where you will be given the option to enter Safe Mode.

Please delete these folders using Windows Explorer(if present):

C:\Program Files\u6h8t10t
C:\Program Files\hpdll

Please delete these files using Windows Explorer(if present):
Use windows search facility if you have trouble finding these files.

rpckvs.exe
C:\WINDOWS\SysCheckBop32
xpcd.exe
rnrbk32.exe

After that, Reboot.

Next
Open HijackThis, click Config, click Misc Tools
Click "Open Uninstall Manager"
Click "Save List" (generates uninstall_list.txt)

If you would please, rescan with HijackThis and post a fresh log along with the uninstall list in this same topic, and let us know how your system's working. :)

Hello Andy, thanks for the help, it's greatly appreciated :)

Going through the fix you gave me, there were some processes that I was not able to execute:

1. When I ran services.msc, I was not able to locate iihipvfp6, it simply was not there, but when running HJT I noticed under the fix 023-.....crgwxxax6.exe had 'iihipvfp6' in it, how can that be there but not show up under services.msc?

2. When I rebooted into Windows using Windows Explorer was not an option, only WinXP Home Edition was an option to start with

3. Either I could not find or the folders and files you asked for me to delete were not present either -
Folders:C:\Program Files\u6h8t10t
C:\Program Files\hpdll
Files: rpckvs.exe
C:\WINDOWS\SysCheckBop32
xpcd.exe
rnrbk32.exe

Other than that, I followed your fix verbatim, once again thanks for your help, Geekstogo is offering a great service, I hope you guys go for a long time.

Hi emp_zertec

Don't worry if you are unable to find the files.

Pleae ensure Ewido is fully updated.

Please re-open HiJackThis and scan. Check the boxes next to all the entries listed below.

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {8AFD25DD-D445-8B52-BFD7-BBDE61567487} - (no file)
O16 - DPF: {E473A65C-8087-49A3-AFFD-C5BC4A10669B} (Quantum Streaming IE Player Class) - http://xlonhcld.xlon...2ie05092801.cab
O23 - Service: adfytjiubtzg (iihipvfp6) - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\system32\crgwxxax6.exe (file missing)

Now close all windows other than HiJackThis, then click Fix Checked.

Reboot into safe mode

Open Ewido
[*]Click on scanner
[*]Click on Complete System Scan and the scan will begin. Ensure no other windows are open for the duration of the scan.
[*]NOTE: During some scans with ewido it is finding cases of false positives.**
  • You will need to step through the process of cleaning files one-by-one.
  • If ewido detects a file you KNOW to be legitimate, select none as the action.
  • DO NOT select "Perform action on all infections"
  • If you are unsure of any entry found select none for now.
[*]Once the scan has completed, there will be a button located on the bottom of the screen named Save report
[*]Click Save report.
[*]Save the report .txt file to your desktop.
[/list]Now close ewido security suite.
**(Ewido for example has been flagging parts of AVG Anti-Virus, pcAnywhere and the game "Risk")

Next reboot

If you would please, rescan with HijackThis and post a fresh log along with the ewido log in this same topic, and let us know how your system's working. :)

Thanks for all the help Andy. After following your instructions and rebooting here's my new logs. My Mozilla seems to be taking a bit longer to open webpages for some reason now, but other than that, the computer is running smoothly.

Hi emp_zertec

Lets see if we can get those stubborn entries in safe mode. :)

Please boot into safe mode

Please re-open HiJackThis and scan. Check the boxes next to all the entries listed below.

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {8AFD25DD-D445-8B52-BFD7-BBDE61567487} - (no file)
O23 - Service: adfytjiubtzg (iihipvfp6) - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\system32\crgwxxax6.exe (file missing)

Now close all windows other than HiJackThis, then click Fix Checked.

Next search for and delete this file(if present)

C:\WINDOWS\system32\crgwxxax6.exe

Reboot into normal mode

If you would please, rescan with HijackThis and post a fresh log in this same topic, and let us know how your system's working. :woot:

I think those files are sticking around still, but did as I was instructed. The closest I got to finding that C:\....crgwxxax6.exe was a crgb.exe file located here ---> C:\WINDOWS\$NtServicePackUninstall$\mqtfprjz.zip --> com/ms/win32/crgb.class if that helps any. :tazz: Anyway here's my fresh HJT log. Thanks for the help, you're awesome.

Download and install Registrar Lite version 2.00
  • Double click the purple Registrar Lite icon on your desktop.
  • Copy the line below and paste it into the "Address" field (located at the top) of the program:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects

  • Click the "Go" button.
  • On the right-hand side it will load all of your BHOs (you'll just see a bunch of numbers)
  • Locate the following entries:
    • {8AFD25DD-D445-8B52-BFD7-BBDE61567487}
  • Right click on each one and select Properties
  • Click the Permissions Button and a new window will open.
  • Click the Advanced button
  • Place a checkmark next to the following:
'Inherit from parent the permission entries that apply to child objects...'
  • Click OK, Ok again and rightclick on each of the following:
    {8AFD25DD-D445-8B52-BFD7-BBDE61567487}
  • Choose delete.
  • Exit Registrar Lite.
Please download remserv.zip
unzip it, boot into safe mode and double-click remserv.bat (a window will just open and close quickly) then reboot into normal mode and post a new HJT log

Hey Andy,
Good to hear from you again. I did the registry edit, but when I click on the remserv.zip file, it takes me here: http://www.geekstogo...ype=msg&id=4192. Is there any other way for me to get the .bat file?

Thanks for the help,
Zertec

I found a file to download with the same name by Michelle, another member on the Geeks to Go staff, is this the same file? The page I found it on is here (http://www.geekstogo...15) I downloaded it, but will not follow through with the safe mode reboot until given confirmation.

Thanks Again,
Zertec

Hi emp_zertec

When you click on the "remserv.zip" link it should give you the option to open or save the file (works for me), you need to save the file and follow the instructions from my last post. :)
As it happens Michelle wrote this file that you need to download, you need to use this file for your problem. If you still have problems please post back and we will try a different way.

Thank you Andydf and Michelle,
Andydf, I'm still having trouble with downloading your file, I've tried just left-clicking it, it takes me to the aforementioned page with the error message, right-clicking and trying to 'save link as...' tries to save the file as a web-page, so I'm up against the wall here, if there's some other way to get the needed file, I don't know how. :tazz: Any other suggestions?

Thanks,
Zertec :)
