Not necessarily. Sometimes they dissapear when either one is in use, and sometimes they just dissapear alltogether.
And both dissapear at the same time.
Can't unisntall them from Device Manager: when they dissapear from My PC they also dissapear from it.

are you comfortable going inside the PC?

let's try running with one drive at a time. power down the PC. disconnect the power cable and the IDE cable from one device. reboot. if the device is not there, rerun CDGONE, then reboot.

if the single drive disappears, repeat for the other drive.

2. Reconnected D:, disconnected E, the other one showed at startup
3. Reconnected E: - both showed up at startup
I can see them both now

can you let the PC sit for awhile(no activity other than checking the drives) so we can see if/when they disappear again?

let's see if they disappear with no activity on the PC.

then after 20-30 minutes, put a disk in one of the drives and see if they disappear.

how long was the single drive setup connected for each device? long enough for the drive to disappear?

let's try a single drive again to see if each drive disappears.

if they each disappear as a single drive, the try this from microsoft. it's a registry modification to remove the upper and lower filters resulting from uninstalling Easy CD Creator.

I guessed they weren't on long enough to dissapear. I'll do it once again and be back. BTW, I already did the MS solution. If I go to regedit there is NO upper nor lowe values.

I'm still waiting for the drive to dissapear, without doing anything else on the PC
