Hey, I've been reading these forums for a while. You guys rock! I'm planning on ditching my Dell and building a new PC. You guys know your stuff so I thought I'd run it by you before I pulled the trigger. My budget is around $1300. PC will be used for games and photoshop stuff. Here are the parts.

CPU -
AMD Athlon 64 3800+ Venice 1GHz FSB 512KB L2 Cache Socket 939 Processor

?MoBo?-

ABIT Fatal1ty AN8-SLI Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 SLI
OR
ABIT AN8 Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 ATX AMD

?Video Card?
(Is this a good one to get?)
SAPPHIRE 100116SR Radeon X800XL 512MB 256-bit

Ram
I would like 2 gigs but I don't know if I can afford it. Is 1 gig enough?
CORSAIR XMS 1GB (2 x 512MB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM Unbuffered DDR 400 (PC 3200)

Sound Card
If I go with the Fatality MoBo is a sound card neccessary?
Creative Sound Blaster Audigy2 ZS SB0350 8 (7.1)

Hard Drive
(I also have a 200GB drive that will be used as a second drive)
Maxtor DiamondMax 10 6L160M0 160GB 7200 RPM 8MB Cache Serial ATA150

Case

Thermaltake Armor VA8000SWA

PSU

Thermaltake PurePower W0023R ATX 560W Power Supply 115/230 V

Thanks in advance!

Go for it man! Far better then mine :) Mines located it Sig.

That Graphics card is freaking Awsome! Should do good for about O... 6 years.

your System is going to last you for like 4 years at least. Good Luck.

I built mine also but I've moved away from gaming for awhile. Till I upgrade though :tazz:

What do you think about the ram? Is one gig enough or should I go with 2?

Is there much of a difference between that processor and this one? http://www.newegg.co...N82E16819103539

Also can anyone reccomend a good dvd burner?

Thanks again.

I would say use the onboard sound. At least for now. I've heard that the new Creative card coming out is supposed to be great. If I remember correctly it's called the X-Fi.
