Actually, I take that back. It's worse. I can no longer copy files from XP to 2K.

This sucks.

Can anyone possibly point me to anything about networking 2K with XP? Seems to me that it should be easy, but I'm not getting it.

More info, but I could'nt figure out how to edit previous post.

I can successfully ping either computer from either computer.

No firewalls up. Both machines on same router.

Passwords (ick!) on both machines, same username, same password.

I can see the 2k machine from the XP machine, but I can't see any shared folders.

I can see the XP machine from the 2k machine, I used to be able to copy over files but no longer can. The message I get is Cannot copy <filename>: Access is denied. the source file may be in use. (it's not!!!)

This is SO frustrating. I can't even think of what I'm doing wrong.

NyCecilia, I didn't mean to cause you greif. I thought you had started a different topic somewhere else.

I barely skimmed a couple of replies, so this could be a worthless reply on my part.

I've got W2k and xp networked and am not having any problems. I don't use user accounts. I use the administrator accounts on all 3 machines and it works fine. Did you try it with Administrator accounts?

That was how I started out, no user accounts, administrator only. Now I have to login to both.

Did you try it with Administrator accounts?

My apologies, sir. You didn't cause me grief. (MS is the cause lol) I should have started a new topic but thought that we were trying to solve the same problem.
