Program not responding?

Trying to run a simple STB Updater Application and I continue to get Program not responding.
It will start but only up to 10 or 15% completed, tried to disk clean, defrag, chkdisk, all that still getting this pause.
wonder why?

need a little more info on that program--if by stb update you mean a generic update program, this usually means that the package you are updating from is corrupted
