Trouble With Icons on Taskbar

Hi,

I have Windows XP/Business & used to keep icons (e.g. "Internet Explorer", "Outlook Express") on my task bar. All of a sudden they're gone & I can't pull them down to stay there any longer (I've locked & unlocked the taskbar). Any ideas of how I can have them stay down there?
