I have been having problems with my internet connection. While surfing the internet it will lag. I click a link, and it sits there for 10- 15 seconds and then it will connect. it also lags opening pages from time to time.

I am connected via an internal wireless card(came installed in the comp) to a Belkin 54G 128 WEP, mac address filtered, connection @ an actual 2MBPs.I am usually the only one using the connection I have messed with all of the settings, tried all of the channels restarted it and reentered everything over again.

Could the cause be, what looks like, "attacks" or something trying to access my computer? "Blocked by Dos protection" occurs frequently in the security log, and happens several times per minute no matter, what time of day that I look at the log. The attacks continue even when I plug the router directly into my laptop via the ethernet cable. When it is directly connected the computer does not lag. My roommate does not have the benefit of plugging into the router directly though. Here is a copy of the router's logs:

What do you think is happening?

do you have the router on G or B by default it is on B which is slower. The further you are away from the router the slower it gets. the blocked by dos is ip address of websites you went to. that is why it works when plugged directly into the router. wireless is not as good have to be close on G mode if there is a lot of wireless activity try changing channel. put frameburst on to on the router config screen

alright cool. I'll give it a try. I was worried that the blocked by dos meant someone was attacking my comp.

Thanks for help!
