Hey there :tazz:

The other day I was trying to do a system clean (defrag, standard ad aware and edwido use as well as a virus scanner I downloaded from mybroadband provider)

and somehow I ended up with this popup. every so often (30 minutes or so) it send me a 'WARNING! etc etc' message that my registry is corrupt and I must go to one of these two different websites and get a registry cleaner! (funny how I was looking for something like that in my houseclean search)

Heres my Hijacthis log. I'd much rather fully remove the problem than just disable the messenger and sweep it under the carpet.

Please read the first link in my signature and follow the steps outlined there. You must install XP SP1a (hold off on SP2 until your computer is clean). Without SP1a, you are wide open to re-infection. When you are ready, post a new HijackThis log here.

Well we really are wasting our time here aren't we since I can't install that service pack. :tazz: I'm sure you can perhaps guess why XP Pro won't accept service packs.

I temp fixed the problem by removing my internal IP off of the DMZ host option it had on. Seems to have stopped the flow of things. I'm sure what may still be on my system in need of removal is still there but at least its non functional :) Thanks anyways.
