I hope I don't run out of tricks before we get this resolved.... :tazz:

Bring up the Task Manager and type C:\WINDOWS\system32\control.exe and open "User Accounts". Click on "Create New Account" and follw the prompts to set yourself up a new account. Make sure to set it up as an Administrator account!

Let me know if you are able to complete this successfully....

:tazz: Being a bit stubborn, huh?

Bring up the Task Manager / New Task and click the "Browse" button. Navigate to C:\WINDOWS\system32\control.exe and double click the "Control.exe" icon.

Sure would be a nice option to have an installation cd about now.... :tazz:

Restart and press the F8 key like you would to boot into Safe Mode. When you get to the options screen, choose "Last known good configuration" and press "Enter".

What kind of machine are we working on? Make and model?

The sad part of this is that we could have this thing running in a few minutes if you had the XP cd. Do you know anyone who has one? Not an OEM Recovery cd...an honest to goodness one...

I'm going to research some recovery console options...this may take a few....

Hi natacha21...

Please go Here and select the startup disk for your system. If you can burn the cd ISO image to a CD-R, get that version...if you can't, get the floppy set (requires 6 floppies).

Then read up on the procedures on This Page but don't do anything...yet. I'm not sure this will work becuase of the Administrator Login problem...but it won't hurt to give it a shot.
