Hey guys, my Norton detected Trojan.Vundo yesterday and i can't seem to get rid of it. I've run all the other programs and checks with no success. Please help me out. Thanks.

* Double-click VundoFix.exe to extract the files.
* After the files are extracted, please reboot your computer into Safe Mode. You can do this by restarting your computer and continually tapping the F8 key (or F5 in some machines) until a menu appears. Use your up arrow key to highlight Safe Mode then hit enter.
* Once in safe mode open the VundoFix folder and doubleclick on KillVundo.bat
* Please type the following file path (make sure to enter it exactly as below!):

C:\WINDOWS\system32\vtutt.dll

* Press Enter, then press the F6 key, then press Enter one more time to continue with the fix.
* When asked for a second path, enter -> C:\WINDOWS\system32\ttutv.*

I'm stuck at the safe mode part. My computer won't let me startup in safe mode. I searched and it seems other people have had this problem too. Same symptoms, screen is all black with "safemode" in all four corners.

Okay, my computer is officially screwed. My computer keeps booting up in safe mode. I restart it it ALWAYS starts in safe mode. Even when i hit F8, and choose startup in regular mode, it goes to safe mode, which of course is an all black screen. I have absolutely no idea what to do. Should i just use my system restore cd's that i got from Dell? Will that work? My computer is less than a month old!!

EDIT: Finally got it to start in normal mode. Had to do it through the task manager. Anyways, can the trojan fix be run through normal mode?

What was the problem you had with Safe Mode? Is it ok now?

Your log is clean.

Computer seems to be good now. The problem was that when i tried to log on in safe mode, it just showed the all black screen, just like what everybody else had. But then after that, when i tried to restart in normal mode, it just kept rebooting in safe mode. So i was just stuck operating in safe mode, which of course never worked, so my computer was just always on that stupid black screen. I ended up opening up the task manager (luckily i could do that) in safe mode, and i ran new program, then msconfig. My computer was being forced to stay in safemode.

As for running the vundofix in my broken safemode, i started it under task manager. I just typed in the location since i couldn't see anything in safemode besides a totally black screen. Task Manager > Applications > New Task > Create New Task > C:\Documents and settings\desktop\vundofix...etc. I was able to get the program to run like that and proceeded with the fix.

The Norton warning is gone and my computer seems to be fixed. Thanks alot for all your help!! I appreciate it!
