Hi there! I am contemplating a DVD burner, but before that, would like to clear some of my doubts. Is the length of time needed to burn 8 600MB (8X600=4.8GB roughly) CDs approximately the same as that needed to burn a single DVD (4.7GB)?

Thank you.

With a 16x DVD R/W you can burn 4.7GB in about 8 minutes. Now figure that with a 56x CD R/W it takes about 2.5-3 minutes to burn 700MB. 700MB x 7 = 4900MB or roughly close to the same as a 4.7GB (4.7GB x 1024MB/GB = 4812MB, close enough :tazz: ) DVD. so 7x2.5-3 = 17.5 to 21 minutes, not including the delay between burning CD's while you take the finished cd out, put another one in, and then get the right files ready to be copied to the CD.
