I recently got a new DVD Rewriter, its a LITEON 16x DVD+/-|+/- RW Drive, however lately, l tried playing a DVD and Power DVD does not support it, what was even more strange was that when l tried to play other DVDs or even CDs it wont recognize it, when l go to my computer, the icon does not even change in recognition that something is in the drive. Does my drive need cleaning or is it a hardware problem?

Hi modi5mind!

What I suggest you do is uninstall and then reinstall yur DVD/CD drive. To do this, right click on MY COMPUTER, click PROPERTIES, click on the HARDWARE tab, then click the DEVICE MANAGER button. Then click the '+' symbol next to DVD/CD-ROM DRIVERS, then right click the entry for your DVD/CD drive and choose UNINSTALL. Then reboot your computer and let windows re-detect it and re-install the drivers for it. Post back if this solves your problem or not.
