:tazz: I have been trying to rid my system of a lot of spyware. Most of it is gone. My system seems to be working OK. the only issue I have is that when I run SpyBot, S&D, it comes up with a VX2/f infection that it is unable to remove, even with rebooting and rerunning:

VX2/f: Settings (Registry key, nothing done)
HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\MxTarget

Add-Aware comes up with nothing and the VX2 add-on doesn't find or clear anything either.

Can you help?

Here is my HijackThis log:

If I understand your post right, it is just that spybot keeps finding that key, but you have no real issues.

If so click Start > Run > type or copy&paste [b]regedit /e c:\maxtar.txt "HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\MxTarget"

Then find c:\maxtar.txt and post the content.

Regards,

Pieter

You are correct. I don't have any issues other than I have spent a lot of time getting rid of other spyware and spybot is still finding VX2/f. I don't know if it is an issue or not, I was just trying to get a clean bill of health.

maxtar.txt was in partition C:\, although I am operating out of E:\
