Hey folks!
What would you say is the best browser for XP? I've just been reading that Opera is meant to be the fastest. What's the general geek consensus!?!

there are tons of good browsers out there but most people would agree that Mozilla Firefox is the best one.

That's sort of like saying "what's the best pizza". The one you like the most, of course!

lol. its a difficult choice between opera and firefox

opera is good because it pretty much has everything out of the box, and its really fast. this is noticeable especially if you're still on dial-up.

firefox is great because you can fully customize your browsing experience by using extensions and editing chrome.

Best is too bland. I agree 100% with Tyger. There is no "best" browser, for it all depends on what you want.

IMO, Opera is best lol!!!!!

Cool. I know that opinions will vary so I just thought I'd see what everyone says and see if one appears to be the most popular. I'm thinking I'm gonna try opera but I will see how this discussion pans out before I make a decission. :tazz:

Just keep your choices open and get a few of them. I mainly use firefox but I still have Opera and Internet Explorer in case there are a few sites that don't work on firefox.

Funny, over 2 years I kept on testing Maxthon, Avant, and FireFox and I like Maxthon. Although I've tested Opera since now they have gone free I am very pleased by it. But Maxthon and Opera are my two! :tazz:

Opera is really nice. But it takes a long time to load up Opera if you accidentaly close it thinking you are closing the current page you are on, need to get used to tabs I guess. Is there any way to keep Opera running in the background without having it minimized, and open each page independantly like IE.

I decided to download both opera and firefox. They are both good in their own way but I'm finding it hard to settle on one. Firefox seems to be the fastest at opening pages but opera seems more efficiant when it comes to java pages and browsing back and forward between pages. I can't decide which is the all round better browsing experience.
