cd isnt anywhere on computer

hi hum recently my cd rom drive dissapeared from my computer and when i went to device manager it wasnt there either..u cannot do a lot of thing without ur cd drive so if anyone got a solution it would be fun

Go to START-->CONTROL PANEL and double click ADD NEW HARDWARE. See if windows detects it.

Can you still open the CD tray but pushing the button?

*EDIT* -- Also, does the BIOS still detect the CD-DRIVE and can you put a bootable CD in like your XP installation cd and you are able to boot from it by pressing any key when asked?

hey thx it worked...well i hope it says when i clikc onn the cd rom drive hardware to install it says that the program was working normally and i heard my cd running. thx man ur the best :tazz:
