Hi, I have been helped by this forum before on this exact same issue, and yet somehow it seemed to have hit me again :tazz: . But since I knew sort of what to do, I have already run the smitrem, adaware, ewido and pandascan tests. However, I know there are still problems that are probably still present. Below are the logs for the different tests. Thanks again.

HJT log (with hidden files shown):

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order it is mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes. You should 'not' have any open browsers when you are following the procedures below.

Go to My Computer->Tools (or View)->Folder Options->View tab:
* Under the Hidden files and folders heading, select Show hidden files and folders (it's Show all files for Windows 98).
* Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
* Click Yes to confirm and then click OK.

For the options that you checked/enabled earlier, you may uncheck them after your log is clean. If we ask you to fix a program that you use or want to keep, please post back saying that (we don't know every program that exists, so we may tell you to delete a program that we think is bad to keep).

Restart your computer and boot into Safe Mode by hitting the F8 key repeatedly until a menu shows up (and choose Safe Mode from the list). In some systems, this may be the F5 key, so try that if F8 doesn't work. Make sure to close any open browsers. Run a scan in HijackThis. Check each of the following and hit 'Fix checked' (after checking them) if they still exist (make sure not to miss any):

R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = res://C:\WINDOWS\system32\shdocnva.dll/defaultASX.htm#securityID=380714;
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [FSH] C:\WINDOWS\system32\svcnva.exe home
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [AdService] C:\WINDOWS\System32\AdService.dll
O20 - Winlogon Notify: wineak32 - C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\wineak32.dll

Delete the following Files/Folders (delete folders if no filename is specified) according to their directory (if none, just do a search for them) and delete them if they exist:

C:\Documents and Settings\Sam\Favorites\SPORTS\Auto racing.url
C:\Documents and Settings\Sam\Favorites\Gambling
C:\WINDOWS\system32\shdocnva.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\svcnva.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\AdService.dll
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\wineak32.dll

Restart and run another Panda scan. Save the log and post it here along with a new HijackThis scan.

I did what you told me, but I could not delete the wineak32.dll file because it told me it was in use. I did everything else though and here's my new HT scan and pandascan.
Thanks.

Make sure that TeaTimer is disabled/closed during the fix below...it's interfering with our fix here.

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order it is mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes. You should 'not' have any open browsers when you are following the procedures below.

R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = res://shdocnva.dll/blank.html
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [FSH] C:\WINDOWS\system32\svcnva.exe home
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [AdService] C:\WINDOWS\System32\AdService.dll

Download KillBox http://www.greyknigh...spy/KillBox.exe. Run KillBox and check the box that says 'End Explorer Shell While Killing File'. Next click on 'Delete on Reboot'. Copy the below files and go back to KillBox. Go to File->Paste from Clipboard and then hit the button with a red circle and white X. Confirm to delete and when asked if you want to reboot, say Yes:

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\wineak32.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\shdocnva.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\svcnva.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\AdService.dll
C:\Documents and Settings\Sam\Favorites\SPORTS\
C:\RECYCLER\S-1-5-21-220523388-299502267-682003330-1003\Dc4.exe

If you get a PendingOperations message, just close it and restart your computer manually.

Restart and run a new Panda scan. Post that log here along with a new HijackThis log.

Sorry, just to confirm, is teatimer just the spybot-SD resident? I know teatimer is an addon with the spybot program, but I can't seem to find where to disable it for the duration of the fix.

No problem :tazz:

TeaTimer is the program that monitors any system/registry changes and asks you to either allow or deny it. You should see it running on your system tray (near the clock/time). It's a white window with a head or something to the left on the window. Just right click and disable it or just close it so it doesn't interfere with the fix.

Hi, in safe mode, I can't disable the teatimer because it doesn't seem to be running? I did the HT scan and checked the items that were listed and click on "fix checked". In terms of the other files, the only one I could find to copy was the wineak32.dll file. But the paste from clipboard function in killbox did not work for me. Instead I was able to just delete it manually. However, upon restart, teatimer picked up a program trying to change the registry. I ran a HT scan and the same items I had checked to be fixed were back. Here is the log:

OK, what did you say when TeaTimer picked up those registry changes? I'm sure they were the fixes we just made there, so make sure you ALLOW it to accept the changes. So do it again and when asked, allow the changes to take affect.

Give me a Panda scan log also when you are done.

Hi, I apologize for taking so long to reply. I wasn't able to run the tests yesterday. But I have done them now, and this time I allowed teatimer to make the registry change. As well, in terms of deleting the files, the only thing I used killbox to delete was the SPORTS folder in favorites folder. Here are my HT and pandascan logs.

So you deleted that Baseball news file? Delete the whole SPORTS folder in your Favorites.

Still there these two...

Close TeaTimer before doing the below:

Check and fix in HijackThis:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [FSH] C:\WINDOWS\system32\svcnva.exe home
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [AdService] C:\WINDOWS\System32\AdService.dll

See if you can find and delete those files.

Restart and post back a new HijackThis.

Ok, so I deleted the SPORTS folder manually just now, and I think that's taken care of. I also just remained in regular windows, shut down tea-timer through the task manager/processes, then ran a HT scan. Checked the two files and said to fix them. I couldn't physically find them in my system32 folder I restarted, re-ran a HT scan and they were back again in the HT log. As well, when I restarted, tea-timer once again mentioned a blank.dll file was wanting to change the registry for browser home-page. I allowed it, but not sure if that was what I should have done. I can't seem to find a way to make sure tea-timer is disabled in safe mode, to be honest, I'm not sure if tea-timer is running during safe mode. Thanks again,

No, TeaTimer should be turned off already in Safe Mode :tazz:

Check Ad-aware and Spybot for updates. Then boot into Safe Mode and run their scans...remove whatever they find. Also run a new Ewido log...save the report when that scan is done.

Check and fix those entries again in HijackThis.

Restart and post the Ewido report here along with a new HijackThis log.

NOTE: If those entries in HijackThis still return, I want you to uninstall Spybot S&D. Restart and make sure these folders are deleted if they still exist:

C:\Documents and Settings\Sam\Application Data\Spybot - Search and Destroy\
C:\Program Files\Spybot...\

Restart again if you deleted the above folders. Then check and fix those entries in HijackThis again if found. Reinstall Spybot and check for updates. Run a Spybot scan and remove what it finds. Run a new HijackThis and post that log here

Once again sorry about the long reply time. I did all that you said, a reinstall of spybot was done as well because the two files kept coming back. Unfortunately, I think I might have picked up a little bit more spyware during this period, believe it or not :tazz: But, with the adware, ewido and spybot scans, hopefully most of it is gone. Anyways, here is the ewido scan and my latest HT log.

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order it is mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes. You should 'not' have any open browsers when you are following the procedures below. Also if you have any programs that may prevent system changes (like Spybot's TeaTimer program, Ad-aware's Ad-Watch, and others), make sure you disable them before doing any of the fixes (or accept the changes for the fix we give you when asked by the programs).

Make sure you downloaded, installed, updated and ran these programs (run in Safe Mode) already - Ad-aware, Spybot and Ewido (only if you have Windows 2000 or XP). If you didn't, do them now. For more information, go to http://www.greyknigh...com/spyware.htm

Run a scan in HijackThis. Check each of the following if they still exist and hit 'Fix Checked' after you check the last one:

R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing
O2 - BHO: Class - {68C2CE66-ADD5-76DE-BBEB-00660711521C} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\crsp32.dll

Locate the following Files/Folders and delete them if they exist (if no location given, just do a search for them):

C:\WINDOWS\system32\crsp32.dll

Restart and run a new Panda scan. Post the log here along with a new HijackThis log.
