Hello. I'm hoping I've set this up correctly. I'm having a lot of trouble with a winfixer popup (as I've noticed others are having as well). I think I also have some other viruses because internet explorer continues to crash.

Also note, one must be either logged in under the Administrator account or have administrator privileges to be able to successfully complete these procedures

1. Please download VundoFix.exe to your desktop.

• Double-click VundoFix.exe to extract the files
• This will create a VundoFix folder on your desktop.
• After the files are extracted, please REBOOT your computer into Safe Mode.
  
  You can do this by restarting your computer and continually tapping the F8 key until a menu appears. Use your up arrow key to highlight Safe Mode then hit enter.
  
  
• Once in safe mode open the VundoFix folder and doubleclick on KillVundo.bat
• You will first be presented with a warning and a list of forums to seek help at.

2. The fix will run then HijackThis will open.

• In HiJackThis, please place a check next to the following items and click FIX CHECKED:

• After you have fixed these items, close Hijackthis and Press any key to Force a reboot of your computer.
• Pressing any key will cause a "Blue Screen of Death" this is normal, do not worry!
• Once your machine reboots please continue with the instructions below.

3. Download and install CleanUp!

• Open Cleanup! by double-clicking the icon on your desktop (or from the Start > All Programs menu).
• Set the program up as follows:
• Click "Options..."
• Move the arrow down to "Custom CleanUp!"
• Put a check next to the following (Make sure nothing else is checked!):
• Empty Recycle Bins
• Delete Cookies
• Delete Prefetch files
• Cleanup! All Users

[*]Press the CleanUp! button to start the program.
[*]It may ask you to reboot at the end, click NO.

I apologize for not getting back to you. I was unable to copy the results from ActiveScan (pandasoftware) becuase it continued to disappear after scanning. Also, I'm not sure if this would be the best time to bring it up, but I'm also experiencing problems with my desktop icons showing a colored background instead of transparent. We want to stop, disable and delete an added service (023)

A. To stop a service and set to 'disabled'

• Go to Start > Run and type in Services.msc then click OK
  
• Click the Extended tab.
  
• Scroll down until you find the service.
  ===>ISEXEng
  
• Click once on the service to highlight it.
  
• Click Stop
  
• Right-Click on the service.
  
• Click on 'Properties'
  
• Select the 'General' tab
  
• Click the Arrow-down tab on the right-hand side on the 'Start-up Type' box
  
• From the drop-down menu, click on 'Disabled'
  
• Click the 'Apply' tab, then click 'OK'

The service is now stopped and disabled.


B. We will now delete the service:

1. Open HJT

2. Click on Config>>Misc Tools>>Delete an NT Service

3. Copy/Paste ISEXEng in the space provided and click OK

4. The program will ask you to REBOOT --- Accept

5. REBOOT into SAFE MODE

6. Using Windows Explorer, locate and DELETE the following file (if it still is present):

C:\WINDOWS\system32\angelex.exe

7. REBOOT back into Normal Mode

8. Now, please update your EWIDO definitions and run EWIDO in Safe Mode

9. Please post a fresh HJT log and the Ewido log
