Vundo -- Annoyance...or Trouble?

My computer is infected with Trojan.Vundo. I am in the process of resolving this with Greyknight's help. However, since it is likely he will not be available to help during the day today, I'm wondering if there is any harm in continuing to use my computer? I am able to move the annoying Norton virus alert window to the bottom, out of sight. But I don't want to risk damage to my computer or anyone else's. Is it OK to email? VPN? IM?
