Had a nasty battle with the Trojan.Desktophijack.B, Trojan.ByteVerify, Downloader.Trojan, and about:blank. Used NAV to get rid of first 3, used adware Away to remove about:blank. I have made changes to the registry as recommended by Symantec. My only problems that still remain are:
1. website "adultmovienetwork" opens up without prompting by IE. Also, "tastypu___" opens up (sorry - didn't want to print it out). Additionally, I get other little popups about mortgages, etc.
2. This is a minor annoyance: Internet Explorer gives me that first time use warning message that being on the internet can send information to other people - even when I check the box to not display that message, it still comes back the next time I open IE.

I would really appreciate your help. Thank you, Frank

P.S. - Here is the HiJack log:

We can definitely help you, but first you need to help us. The first step in this process is to apply Service Pack 1a for Windows XP, or Service Pack 4 if you are running Win2k. Without this update, you're wide open to re-infection, and we're both just wasting our time.

Apply the update, reboot, and post a fresh Hijack This log.
