Hi there, I think I may have a problem with spyware which I hope you can help me with. First of all, I am running Windows XP Home Edition, AVG antivirus, and Windows Firewall. I have 3 pc's in the house which are networked through a router, as well as a laptop which is connected through a wireless connection. Starting on Saturday, my highspeed internet started moving like a snail on all systems. I can get on the internet, but the pages load very slowly. I contacted my ISP, they checked everything from their end, and everything seems fine. I have unplugged the modem and the router to try and clear any problems, but it didn't help. I even connected straight to the modem, but that didn't help either. I have also noticed that the main pc is very slow shutting down.

So, I updated and ran: Ad-Aware, Spybot, CWShredder, Microsoft Antispyware, AVG antivirus but found nothing of any significance. I also tried to run the Trend Micro virus scan but it kept hanging. I also ran an Ewido scan and it found about 23 items (all in very old files that have not been used in ages). I am also running Prevx and Spyware Blaster. I would try the Panda scan, but I think it would probably hang just like Trend Micro did. The only thing I have not tried is Trojan Hunter which I am currently downloading (slowly). Do you have any ideas for me? I would really appreciate any help you could give. Here is a HijackThis log from earlier today (maybe not the most recent version since I haven't need it for a long, long time - thank goodness).

Welcome to GTG.

I don't see anything here which may cause the internet to be sluggish. All programs here are legitimate.

Not sure if this will fix the problem, but try running this:
Download WinsockFix http://www.greyknigh.../WinsockFix.zip and unzip it. Then double click on WinsockFix.exe to run it.

It looks more like a network issue. Did you check the Network Services/Protocols to make sure everything looks normal? Try uninstalling them, restarting and restarting those protocols (TCP/IP, Microsoft Network, etc.). If it still won't work up to par, then try asking this question in the Networking Forum to see if they have any ideas on how to troubleshoot this to see if it's a problem on the network.
