I have many problems with my computer. :)

I did a repair on Win XP pro because it wouldn't boot.
I then installed Norton system works and ran the virus scanner(took a day and a half). :tazz: Found 1000+ viruses.
Installed Norton's personal firewall. Also ran WinASO Registry Optimizer.

While I was doing that (took a couple of days) I found this site.

Then I started with the "start here" section from this site.

Cleanup - ran ok
Adaware SE - ran fine
CWShredder - Also fine
Spybot S&D - OK
Ewido System Secutity Suite - OK
TrojanHunter - HANGS UP
Hijack This - ok

When booting up I get these three errors and would like some guidance on what to do before proceeding.

Please follow these steps:
  • Please make sure that you can View Hidden Files
    • Click Start -> My Computer
    • Select Tools -> Folder options
    • Select the View tab and make sure that 'Show hidden files and folders' (or 'Show all files') is enabled.
    • Also make sure that 'Display the contents of system folders' is checked.
    • For more info on how to show hidden files click here.

  • Run Hijackthis again, click scan, and Put a checkmark next to each of these. Then close all other windows--you should only see HijackThis on your Desktop--and click the Fix Checked button.

Reboot your computer to go back to normal mode.

Please run at least two of these online scans.
Make sure they are set to clean automatically

Well something you had me delete was my internet connection. I'm posting from work now. I'm not sure which it was though. I'm going to contact my service provider to get it up and running again. I probably won't be getting to it until tomorrow though. FYI - I have SBC yahoo DSL. Once I get it going again I will post a new log.

Again thanks,
Sean

Try this
  • Enter your Control Panel and double-click on Network Connections
  • Then right click on your Default Connection
    • Usually Local Area Connection for Cable and DSL
  • Left click on Properties
  • Double-Click on the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) item
  • Select the radio dial that says Obtain DNS Servers Automatically
  • Press OK twice to get out of the properties screen and reboot if it asks
Next Go start run type cmd and hit OK
type
ipconfig /flushdns
then hit enter, type exit hit enter
(that space between g and / is needed)

Please delete these files that Panda found for us.

C:\keys.ini
C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files\WinadX.inf
C:\WINDOWS\system32\netrj32.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\stlb2.xml
C:\WINDOWS\UnstSA2.exe
F:\Program Files\Lycos <-- delete this folder

Aside from that your log looks pretty good. How are things on your end? Any lingering problems?

Seems to be running ok except for and error when booting and some popups.

C:\keys.ini - Couldn't find this file
C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files\WinadX.inf - Couldn't find this file
C:\WINDOWS\system32\netrj32.exe Deleted
C:\WINDOWS\system32\stlb2.xml Deleted
C:\WINDOWS\UnstSA2.exe Deleted
F:\Program Files\Lycos Deleted

I get this error when rebooting.

I get these popups, they seemed to be on a timed schedule. If I leave the computer going I will get a large number of these and they seem to run in a order sequence.

Let's fix a few startup items that are not needed to run automatically. Please fix these with Hijackthis.

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [UpdateManager] "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Sonic\Update Manager\sgtray.exe" /r
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [QuickTime Task] "C:\Program Files\QuickTime\qttask.exe" -atboottime
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SunJavaUpdateSched] C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_02\bin\jusched.exe
O4 - Startup: Connection Manager.lnk = C:\Program Files\SBC\Connection Manager\CManager.exe
O4 - Global Startup: Logitech Desktop Messenger.lnk = C:\Program Files\Logitech\Desktop Messenger\8876480\Program\LDMConf.exe

Download and save backlight to your desktop. Doubleclick blbeta.exe, accept the agreement, leave [X]scan through Windows Explorer checked, click scan > next.

You'll see a list of all the items it found. There will also be a log on your desktop with the name fsbl.xxxxxxx.log (where xxxxxxx represents numbers). The application finds both bad files and legitimate ones such as "wbemtest.exe", so don't choose the rename option yet! Copy and paste the log it generated in your next reply.
