Hi.

I have run the preliminaries the best I can (Panda froze my system), but still have popups. It also seems like the system freezes at times.

Close all windows except HijackThis and click the "Fix Checked" button.

Now, enable hidden files:

1) Go to My Computer, and click on the "Tools" menu
2) Click "Folder options"
3) Select the "View" tab
4) Make sure "Show hidden files and folders" is selected
5) Make sure "Hide extensions for known file types" is unchecked
6) Make sure "Hide protected operating system files (recommended)" is unchecked

Locate the following files and delete them:

Please download WinHelp2002's DelDomains by right-clicking on the following link, and choosing "Save Target As":

Save the file to the desktop.
Then go to the desktop, right click on DelDomains.inf, and choose Install.

Reboot and post a new log.

I couldn't find a couple of the hidden files (System32\32lq0t6o.exe and lur.exe ) and couldn't remove windir32.exe (it said that it might be write protected).

Hi,

Before going on:

The first step in this process is to apply Service Pack 1a for Windows XP. Without this update, you're wide open to re-infection, and we're both just wasting our time.

Apply the update, reboot, and post a fresh Hijack This log.

Hi, when you go here: http://www.microsoft...p1/default.mspx,

download the "Express Install". Then double click the file (whereever you saved it) and it'll download the updates from the net.

Then post a new log,

When I go there, I follow the directions to download SP1A. It tells me that it is checking what I have as a system, and then it knocks me offline so that i have to re-boot. I had someone from work download it for me, but what I got was ie6setup.exe

I don't know whether that includes the SP1a fix or not. Sorry.

Hi,

No problem!

Download it here: http://www.download....tml?tag=lst-0-1

Then run the exe from where you save it.

When it updates, reboot and post a new log.
