Hey guys, I'm one of the thousands of people that got the HL2 pack for Christmas, and I must say that it's an awesome game. However, in CS:S especially, I get really bad fps lag, getting down to the mid-teens in heavy load.

I'm not like other gamers here that wonder why this happens on their PII with Doom3; I've got a P4 2.6 HT, 512MB DDR (Corsair), and an Nvidia FX5200 card w/128MB cache...I've checked and closed all the other programs on my computer, ended most of the services and processes I don't need, but still my rendering is [bleep]-slow.

Anyone have any idea why?

Thanks!

i would suggest, toning down graphics setting on a game that new with a video card like that, that isn't the best choice card to run a newer game at higher then min-mid/custom settings, anyways, i would seggest upgrading your vid card drivers, mobo drivers, but drivers shouldn't casue a game to lag, but first off, has it always done that?

I would call that...rather obvious. Of course I have the settings down; they're on Bilinear, no AA, everything on low, etc. In regular CS (The only other recent game I've played), the only time I ever lagged was with a high-quality smoke grenade, and that just brought me down a little past 40, from 70-ish. All my drivers are up to date; HL2 made me do it :tazz:
