Hi there,

Sorry if im being nosy and asking toooo many questions but i just want to ask a few basic questions about the g2g forums (mainly directed at the admins).

1) How mnay posts do you have to make to make a topic a hot topic?

2) On topics where there is more than 2 posts the color changes. Like it goes from a white background in a post, then a slightly darker background. How do you get it so that the member ranking image backgrounds change color from white to a darker white?

And also on the main g2g forums page, on the left of the catigosy title it has an image which is blue that says G2G in big white letters.

Did you have to edit them images yourself to display G2G or is there some sort of software that can do it, or can you personalise it on the Admin Control panel?

These are all 'skinning' questions. You can modify the colors of the forum by editing the CSS file, or using the ACP skin manager. Also, if you get the GDK (graphic development kit) from Invision, then you'll have PDF (photoshop) verisons of all the graphics so that you can customize them. Graphics are in the style_images folder.

P.S. 15 posts to be 'hot'.

Do you have to pay for the graphic development kit?

If so, how much is it?

And what exactly can you do on it?

It's free in the client center if you're a customer. It includes all the graphics used in the default skin, so you can changes the colors, text, etc.

Cool! So basically you type in what you want the graphics to say and it will put it on the graphics?

Not quite that simple. You need PhotoShop, or I think they have a GDK for PaintShop too. Then you edit the graphics and save them.

It's in the client area at invisionboard.com You need to own a license to access the client area. If your hosted with InvisionFree, you don't own a license, but you may be able to find an old copy for version 1.3 available somewhere.

No smiley pack, they've been collected from many sources.

You have Invision Free, you don't have a license.
