Hello,

You may want to print out these instructions or write it down for reference, since you will have to restart your computer during the fix.

Please download FixWareout from one of these sites:
http://downloads.sub.../Fixwareout.exe
http://swandog46.gee.../Fixwareout.exe

Save it to your desktop and run it. Click Next, then Install, then make sure "Run fixit" is checked and click Finish. The fix will begin; follow the prompts. You will be asked to reboot your computer; please do so. Your system may take longer than usual to load; this is normal.

When your system reboots, follow the prompts. Afterwards, HijackThis will launch. Please click Scan, and check the following items:

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000} - (no file)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {11111111-2222-408A-9842-CDBE1C6D37EB} - C:\WINDOWS\netdde.dll
O2 - BHO: C:\WINDOWS\adsldpbc.dll - {A7EEDA60-1BD2-449C-9B1D-0162D9777785} - C:\WINDOWS\adsldpbc.dll (file missing)
O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{051A08C6-C16D-47C2-8B4D-74AEA275ADA1}: NameServer = 85.255.113.93,85.255.112.19
O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{30510CEC-A157-4ABB-B708-BF7EAF943A1F}: NameServer = 85.255.113.93,85.255.112.19
O17 - HKLM\System\CS1\Services\Tcpip\..\{051A08C6-C16D-47C2-8B4D-74AEA275ADA1}: NameServer = 85.255.113.93,85.255.112.19
O17 - HKLM\System\CS2\Services\Tcpip\..\{051A08C6-C16D-47C2-8B4D-74AEA275ADA1}: NameServer = 85.255.113.93,85.255.112.19

If you see an entry as well in your O4 lines in hijackthis, starting with cs... for example:
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [csnvo.exe] C:\WINDOWS\System32\csnvo.exe
(filename is random, but starts with cs...) or another random one starting with dm.....
Check it as well.

Click Fix Checked. Close HijackThis, and click OK to proceed.

At the end of the fix, you may need to restart your computer again.

Finally, please post the contents of the logfile C:\fixwareout\report.txt, along with a new HijackThis log.

Hi,

I see a clean Hijackthislog. :tazz:

I have no idea how you got this, 20 mins after a clean install, but most probably it was because you accidentally visited the wrong site. :)

Anyway.. it seems we fixed it.

To keep this clean in the future, I would suggest the following things:

Install Spywareblaster
SpywareBlaster doesn`t scan and clean for so-called spyware, but prevents it from being installed in the first place. It blocks the popular spyware ActiveX controls, and also prevents the installation of any of them via a webpage.

Avoid illegal sites, because that's where most malware is present.

Let your antispywarescanner(s) scan frequently and don't forget to update before.

And I do suggest you perform an online virusscan once in a while. (Housecall and/or Bitdefender). Because what one virusscanner can't find another one maybe can.
Also make sure that your virusscanner, the one that is installed on your system is always up to date!

Make sure your windows has the latest updates: http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/

If you are having XP SP2, read here how to configure Security Features for Internet Explorer:
http://www.microsoft...xp/iesecxp.mspx

More info on how to prevent malware you can also find here (By Tony Klein)

Happy surfing again! :woot:
