Okay, so I recently reformatted my windows XP due to insane amounts of viruses......

Everything seems okay (besides a stuck enter key, but that's another story)

BUT-- when I go to setup wireless (we have a wireless router) or even plug DSL directly into my computer, nothing works.

Under network connections there are NO ICONS! And when I "create a new connection" no new icon appears for internet/wireless/etc even though it says one exists......

Network connections is empty and remains that way.

This was not what my computer was like when I FIRST installed windows, and I can't find anything to remedy my problem on the internet!!

Yaaarrrg!!! Anybody got any ideas??

you need to get the drivers for all of those installed before any internet will work

is your wireless card a pci device? or is it onboard?
same with the ethernet controller

It is all built into the computer (a Dell Inspiron 600m). Does that mean I have to burn the drivers onto a CD from this computer to do it? Where would I find such drivers?

Thanks you so much by the way-- you saved my life (literallllllllly!!!)

keep us posted on how the process goes....and post in this thread if you have any other problems related to this issue (i.e. you get the drivers in but it still doesn't work)
