i have a hewlett packard and i used fdisk and now all i can do is boot up using my windows bootdisk and i can only get a: i cannot run fdisk or anything else just a:/ help

After creating a partition with fdisk, the drive must be formatted before it's accessible. At the A:\ command prompt try typing format c:
