i need help

hi i dont know if this is the right place to make thios post but i need help with my dvd writer. its a sony idk what modle it is but i have it hooked up correctly and when i load my pc i goto my computer where the drive is and it doenst show the drive in it. im confused because when i first load my pc up it says it detected it but it wont show it in my computer and it wont even open so someone please help :) :tazz:

You should check the wiring as it would open at the very least

check pin 1 on your cable. check power connector. also look at the jumper setting at the back of the drive

all common errors.
