Hello! I am not computer literate so please bare with me. I bought system mechanics 5 because my computer is running so slow. In the clean registry part of the mechanics, its scans for unwanted and erroneous files. It keeps coming up HIKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWARE in different locations, it asks me if I want it removed, I remove it..next time I scan, they are there again, I remove them, etc. etc.: sometimes 6 to 7 of them, sometimes 14. I run my pc cillion and it doesn't come up on the scan, and the spyscan on the systems mechanic doesn't pick it up. Does anyone know what the heck this is? Thanks so much for your time..patzzzwv

Hi patzzzwv

Let us take a closer look at what is running on your PC. We'll need you to use a free diagnostic tool (HiJackThis) and post a log back here with the results.

Click the HijackThis Guide in my signature, download it and follow the instructions in the guide.

Most of what it lists will be harmless or even essential, DO NOT delete or modify anything yet! Someone will be along to tell you what steps to take after you post the contents of the scan results.

Thank You
