i'm having serious trouble with 2 viruses on my computer. I'm a complete beginner at this and have no idea where to begin. Other than running Norton AntiVirus and attempting to delete things I don't know what else to do. Norton tells me that my 'Repair feature is unavailable, install and re-install' but it came with my laptop and i don't possess the disk to re-install. The viruses are 'w32.desktophijack and trojan.alemod'. I've spent weeks trying to delete them and have finally given up. Symantec have a very complicated looking way of deleting them, but it looks like it's written for experts. The viruses don't actually appear to be doing anything, apart from throwing up a screen from Norton every couple of minutes that tells me the files could not be repaired and that access to the files were denied.
I apologise if I haven't given you enough information, but I haven't a clue where to even begin. I just want them gone.
I hope somebody can help me. Thank you.
