I purchased a laptop almost 3yrs ago for overseas travel. After 2 yrs of frustration with the way its system operated, I returned to the states and tried to find help. The tech support where I purchased it said my problem was probably windows me, and that I should upgrade to xp. So I did. Now almost all the software I was using before will not work anymore. My modem is also not compatable, and I will be leaving the country again next week for some time and will not have access to dsl where I am going. Is there a quick way to fix the compatability problem?????????

Welcome petfish !
What brand of modem are you using? Downloading the latest modem driver should solve the problem.
