About two weeks ago, i was going to post my hijackthis log but i read the instructions here first. It said run a program CleanUp and it gave me a download button to click so i clicked it. Then i ran the program and it messed up my computer completely. I have no start bar on my computer and none of my Icons on my desktop work. What happened?

Hello and welcome to Geeks To Go

As Guse asked have you run any Registry cleaners before running Clean Up they do cause the issue. I would not run registry cleaners if you have a problem like this on.

To fix the problem please do Ctrl + Alt + Delete and in the process tab press "New Task" and type sfc /scannow press "Ok" this will give a blue bar and ask for you Xp CD. When it goes reboot. This replaces all files belonging to XP that are missing or corrupt.
