Thanks

The problem is on another computer which is in the same house running off the same internet connection side by side. This computer I'am on doesn't have a cd burner...can that file be burned on a disk so I can use it for the other computer that has the problem?

Howdy:

Try booting into Safe Mode with Networking and see if that helps keep your system running while you go through the instructions..

ok I just did what you have said once again it just starts over after I select which you told me to select and it asks over and over.

If I installed a dvd burner/cd burner on this computer which I have. Will I be able to copy the files that needs to be copied on disc so that I can use it on the infected computer?

Well I did all I can my computer will not work I got to the scan program installed it and ran it but it says I have to be connected online when I sign on online it still does the same thing the computer shuts off. I don't know if I have to in order for it to work but my computer will not let me sign on online without shutting down and it will keep shuting down as long as I have the internet modem on. My computer is dead. :tazz:

I don't know if this will help, but you could take a look at This Thread

Perhaps it will help you enough to get back up and running and in here to do a proper cleanup!!

Ok this is what I did....
I went to microsoft and downloaded Malicious Software Removal Tool and burned it to a disk so that I can use it on my windows XP computer with the problem and I also downloaded spysubMD and ran that and deleted all the files that were harmful and now I'm able to run the recovery on my computer. It is running the recovery now so I'll inform you of the outcome if I may need to reinstall SP1 or whatever...
I'll keep the post up and current.

Hello im new here, and i delt with dl.exe 3 times already,

i got dl.exe through msn first, this was tenga-b
i got dl.exe through a friend who didnt know he was infected this is tenga-a
and i didnt know i was infected and i had a file full of exes i wanted to send to my bro i sent those files to him notice the virus thought i took it off, and took back the exe files and owned myself xD
its way longer then that but thats how i got them and idiotily got it badly xD

anyways heres what i did, to finnaly remove dl.exe

i updated my windows xp,
start>all programs>windows update
always keep your windows up to date, i just found that out the hard way.
after updating, it told me i had malicious malware on my computer, it told me to scan it, once scanned(40 mins) it said it was removed along with, examples of virus's and what i was infected with along with info, i didnt use an anti virus but i did use 3 anti viruses and hijackthis to confirm its not there anymore.

the symptoms are

internet going down repeatedly and staying down sometimes, every exe you touch says dl.exe in a black box that apears and disapears etc

i noticed when your internet goes down it doesnt actually go down
it prevents you from opening a connection, i was on msn, and my internet went down but msn was still on, but once i closed msn it stayed down until i closed the program, if all else fails do a system restore and do what i did.
good luck.
