just looking for simpler video converter

i have .avi files, i want to convert them to .mpeg2/mpeg files to create DVD's

i've been searching, but the results are all programs for PC computers

Try to find a converter that will convert to uncompressed rgb.avi files (which will be very large) and then convert them to whatever format you want. The uncompressed .avis are a sort of industry standard so it's easy to work with them and find converters, and they give the best results anyway.
