When I try to access Task Manager using CTRL-ALT-DEL I get a message saying my administrator has deactivated that feature. When I go to the TASKMAN file in the Windows directory, I'm not given an option to turn it back on. How can I recover Task Manager?

Hello and Welcome to Geeks To Go

Why don't you ask your administrator to turn it back on? Or are you the administrator of the computer?

Hi shackmd...Welcome to G2G!

Click Start then Run and type (or copy and paste) the following into the "Run" box. REG add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System /v DisableTaskMgr /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f Click "Ok"

Now try the Task Manager...
