hey ive got a new dell pc Dimension 8300 and also a new dell laptop Inspirion 5050, i was just wondering how i find what type of RAM i have... i know where to find all the system specs etc. but it doesnt say with type of DDR RAM it is, i.e. DDR3200 etc... please could you tell me how i could find this out? because im thinking of upgrading so i can have more RAM... so i would needa know what type i should buy..

Two options, first you could take a look, I have yet to see a module that isn't labelled (PC[8*x]=DDR[x], i.e. PC3200=DDR400).

Other than that, you could download and run Everest Home

Look your system type and name up on Crucial.com.

There you'll be presented with a list of memory modules your computer will like or your money back.
