linux on an old comp?

hi im fairly new to linux iv been useing knoppix on occasion but i just inharited an old computer from my friend and was woundering if there is a distro of linux out there for it it has about 128 ram and i thinka 4 gig harddrive thats been formatted and i dont know what kind of processor it just says intel on it

To find out about the processor, open a console in knoppix...

$ cat /proc/cpuinfo

If it runs knoppix ok then you may as well try a distro from

http://www.debian.org/

because (a) knoppix is a modified debian (b) its binary release system is excellent so you won't need to be compiling stuff (which is what gobbles up space).
