is it better to buy a studio sound recorder?
or to record direct to a computer?

i have a sound board already

if it is better to use a studio recorder what works good and is not expencive?

Both work well, just what you like using best.

I use Audacity to record on my computer, its FREE.

I've been using Goldwave for several years now and it's a good package.
It's shareware and you can download it from here
