hello,

when i try to use my modem i get a 633 conflict/already in use error
been googling and chating but to no avail
most say rename telephon.ini, and run tapiini.exe but i dont seem to have that exe on my system
the modem will work w/ aol, as a wan/ppp(slip) connection
device manager says modem is installed and working correctly
no icon in network connections
reinstalled both modem & drivers
no answering/fax machine software running(or installed)
dont see any suspect software running in msconfig(tho im no expert)
have scanned for virus, trojan, dialers
win xp
modem is no name compusa

any help would be greatly appreciated,
