Hi,

I have some form of malware that has hijacked CONTROL.EXE. It completely locks up the computer whenever I dial in using a modem. However, when using a broadband connection, nothing is affected. I discovered this after finally being able to access the Task Manager while the lock-up was occuring. I noticed CONTROL.EXE as one of the processes and since I didn't have the control panel open I figured this was the offender. Sure enough, after stopping the process my computer was able to function normally again. I deleted the infected control.exe, but I am wondering if anyone knows exactly what virus this could be so I can download a removal tool to rid this thing once and for all.

Thanks!
