I would love to have posted a HJT log but i can even get that far. Every time I try to open a program it takes me to a screen that says "open With" etc. I used Syware Doctor to try to remove something i thought i had. I dont know where to begin now. I cant run or open anything.
Srry if i posted in the wrong area.
My O/S is Win Xp

You can't open anything? Can you try a repair install of XP When you say you can't run or open anything does that mean you can open any file at all?

Do you see any icons down next to the clock?

Ok that dose mean that there is something very wrong.

I fixed the link in my other post can you please click on that and follow the instructions. That might fix your problem so we can run HiJack This and get the log to put in the Malware forum.

when i put the cd in restart..it just boots up normally no "Press any key to boot from CD" message comes up. If i go into the drive and open the cd and try to install xp, nothing happens either

You will have to press something like F12 to bring up a list of things you can boot from. There should be something called something like IDE CD ROM device, try to boot form that.

Ive tried every F button, esc and ctrl+s it wont let me into the BIOS to set up the booting. I promise i knw a little about comps.
Its only letting me boot it safe mode, safe mode with networking, safe mode with command prompt. Nothing i hit gets me to the BIOS
Also I have a ASUS motherboard if that helps

I was trying to get to the list of booting devices, maybe your computer dose not have it like mine.

You press the Del key on most computers to get into the BIOS.
