When I try to run my system recovery CDs I get an error message saying they are not the correct System Recovery CDs for my laptop.

I believe the are the correct CDs. Sony support says that Bios may have become corrupt or a component was removed that prevents the system recover CDs from working. I believe I did accidently delete the DVD decoder but I'm not sure if that's the problem.

Now they tell me to get it serviced ($250 by sony...or who knows how much somewhere else).

Is there any solution to my problem?
