I have had MSN Messenger working fine on all the devices at home here (6 attached to a wireless network using Linksys routers and adaptors). The network has been open, so I enabled WEP over the weekend.

Added the key to all PC's, but one W98 box no longer runs Messenger. Click on sign-in and it tries to log in but then says cannot connect, troubleshoot or close. Troubleshoot says it can find no problems with the connection and for all other purposes the PC is fine and the connection is excellent.

Couple of clues - IE6 seems not to run every time. I can click it and nothing appears - I only saw this when I noted a number of iexplore tasks in task manager. Also, downloads don't always work, but I have to confess that I cannot work out any pattern to that (sorry!)

Have to confess - I am very stumped :tazz:
