how do you turn off the color boxes around program description on the desktop

Try this below...I think it will solve your problem.
If not, probably someone else will have the solution.



1. Right-click the desktop background
2. Select Properties
3. In the Display Properties dialog box
click the Appearance tab.

4. Under Item, select Desktop

I think you can figure
it out from here, mibrockman......
(This is also the place to go to ADD color hues etc.)
I have Windows XP so I click on CUSTOMIZE DESKTOP.

Hi mibrockman...

If flowergirl's suggestion brings no joy, Click Start then Control Panel, double click on System. Under the "Advanced" tab, tick the button next to "Let Windows choose what's best for my computer"..."Apply" the settings and click "Ok".
