A small sound file plays periodically and I can't seem to pinpoint it's location.
Here is my HJT log. Please review it for me and let me know what I can remove.
Thank you very much in advance. This forum is a great benefit to all who have found it.

Not sure if it will help against the sounds, but let's start with getting rid of the spyware.

Check the following items in HijackThis.
Close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

R3 - URLSearchHook: NetGuideBHO Class - {08F46458-D00F-4573-8EB3-A9A9E15503F8} - C:\PROGRA~1\NetGuide\BHO\NETGUI~1.DLL

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {549B5CA7-4A86-11D7-A4DF-000874180BB3} - (no file)

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {FDD3B846-8D59-4ffb-8758-209B6AD74ACC} - (no file)

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Windows ServeAd] C:\Program Files\Windows ServeAd\WinServAd.exe

O9 - Extra button: (no name) - {CD67F990-D8E9-11d2-98FE-00C0F0318AFE} - (no file)

Reboot into safe mode and delete:
C:\Program Files\Windows ServeAd <= entire folder

This one I don't recognize:
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ShowWnd] ShowWnd.exe

Let me know if you know what it is for.

Thanks so very much Pieter!!!
I didn't really know what that one file was for, so I just deleted it anyway. It will take some time before I really know if that sound file has been deleted, as it only plays occasionally.

Thanks again

OK. If you have more sound-effects, you may have to look at pop-up blockers and the likes. Those often come with a soundalarm. :tazz:
