Hi,

I recently attempted to open up Championship manager (Which I freely admit I am addicted to) but I got an error message saying it couldn't be opened in full screen mode.

So I found out this was because my computer had reset itself to a 16 bit colour setting.

When I attempted to change this to the required 32bit setting I got an error message saying

'The display control panel is unable to change the display settings. Please Check your display hardware in the device manager.'

In an attempt to get round this I though I should try loading Windows in safemode and attempting to see if I could change it from here, but alas, I had no joy.

On my restart back into normal windows mode I was shocked to discover my resolution had been changed to 640 x 480 from its usually 1024 v 768. When I attempted to change it back I couldn't and was presented with the same message as above in bold!

Now the option to have 32bit colour has been withdrawn from me and I am only shown the choices of 16, 256 colours or 16 bit.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what could be going wrong? I have attached my hijackthis log.

Any help is greatly, greatly appreciated and I will be indebted to you!
